"Primitive Pineapple"
Hello,
Introducing my "Primitive Pineapple" an original design created by me! The pineapple stands 13" tall and is made from fabric that has been "grunged" with my own recipe, rag stuffed, and will be signed and dated! I was inspired to create this pineapple, as I read how so many have tried numerous techniques to dry a real pineapple for display in their primitive/colonial homes.
I will be sending some of the finished pineapples and patterns to sell at the "FOLK Barn Springfield Ohio Antique Show & Flea Market" May 18-20, 2012. In fact, here is the group that just left today for their journey!
I am taking orders for the finished product and the pattern starting May 15. The finished pineapple and the pattern will also be for sale in my shop located in Oakdale, Pennsylvania, if you happen to be in the area! If interested, please email me for further details and information.

"Where Have I Been"
Hello,
The answer to that is simple, I don't know! I have been very busy with necessary things in my life, that I have neglected to keep my blog updated. So while I was lost, I decided to have my blog worked on to give me a fresh new look! I am very happy with what Amybug's Primitive Attic has done for me! What a great gal and so talented and patient as well! With the change, some things had to be removed, we went back and forth with likes and dislikes, but it all worked out in the end and I love it!
Another note I would like to add is that I am pursuing another venture with my business. I will be creating patterns for sale along with selling the finished product as well. I currently have my first pattern complete, but it is not quite ready to market. So please, keep checking back to see what I have in store for you!

"What's Next"
Hello,
Someone presented the question the other day, "what's next?" Since the holiday is over, what next? A question we are faced with as one year ends and a new one begins. The hustle and bustle are over and the excitement we looked forward to ends in a short span of just twenty-four hours!
Every year repeats itself with the same holidays or birthdays or special events! When Christmas is over, we already know what comes next. With the New Year, we say change is in order.
We are left wondering "what next?" We start thinking of all the events the New Year has in store for us. Maybe it's an upcoming birthday, or the anticipation of a birth, or plans being made for a special event, or one of the upcoming holidays, or those things we have to finish or get done in our lives!
Whatever it may be, let's not forget to stop and enjoy each day in front of us! The warmth of the sun shining, the sparkle of a snowflake, the wisp of a soft breeze, or the gentle touch of a spring rainfall! Whatever each new day brings, stop to enjoy the moment!
What if we decided to take one moment of each new day and enjoy all that moment had to offer even if every other moment of that day is not what we expected! Each moment, no matter good or bad, is a life experience for each one of us!
Yes, we should all have something to look forward to, not necessarily "what's next?" No, we can't always live in the moment to enjoy everything life has to offer because we have responsibilities, but when the moment presents itself, why not take that moment and enjoy it because that moment may never present itself again for us to enjoy! I wish you much success, good health, happiness, and many special moments in 2012!

"A Little Nostalgia"
Hello,
Even though I love country/primitive/folkart, this year I wanted to return to some of my most memorable childhood moments of Christmastime. I decided that my Christmas tree was going to have colored lights on it, old-fashioned vintage glass bulb ornaments, some of which hung on our tree when I was growing up, of course an angel on top, and yes, tinsel!
I was having fun, while reminiscing, as I hung each ornament in its' special place on the tree so that each and every one could be seen and enjoyed.
Funny, when I got to the finishing touches, hanging the tinsel, how I remembered my mom placing each and every piece just so on the tree! This was when I was much older, because as a young child, our tree was never up before we went to bed on Christmas Eve. I didn't realize then why she took so much time on the tinsel until I started placing it on my own tree! Oh the glistening beauty of it all, as I sit gazing at the tree and the tinsel as it moves about so subtly bringing back such fond memories!
I received a Christmas card booklet this year that included inspirational stories and wanted to share one of them with you. It's called "A Shining Light" by Milly Patzer.
The lights upon my Christmas tree
Shine so clear and so bright;
I love to sit and gaze at them
In the darkness of the night.
They remind me of a Star that shone
Long ago, on Christmas Night
And led the shepherds and the kings
To see a glorious sight.
A child was born upon that night
Laid in a manger bare,
As Wise Men came and worshipped
His mother held Him there.
And now upon each Christmas Eve
We should all kneel and pray
To thank our God who gave His Son
To us on Christmas Day!
I hope you enjoyed this verse as much as me! May you have a very Merry Christmas!
